SUSECON will be held April 1-5, 2019.
Originally an autumn event, SUSECON is moving to springtime to better align with industry event schedules and to take advantage of internal synergies created by SUSE's recent change in its fiscal year. The first spring SUSECON will be in Nashville in April 2019, and SUSECON will continue to be an annual springtime event from then on.
That depends on your spending habits! You may want to see the sights and enjoy the local cuisine of Nashville on the conference open nights. Breakfast and lunch will be served Tuesday through Friday, and snacks will be provided during morning and afternoon break times. Food and beverages will be provided at the SUSECON Conference Party on Tuesday evening, April 2, and during an off-site event on Wednesday, April 3.
Absolutely. You can take advantage of wireless internet access at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel. For wireless access, 802.11b-compatible cards (or laptops) will be supported. The network name will be provided on-site. We will also have IT professionals on site to assist you with configuration or compatibility issues. We are unable to guarantee Internet access outside the meeting areas, although complimentary internet access is included with your room if you stay at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel in the SUSECON room block.
SUSECON 2019 will be held at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel in Nashville, TN.
The average temperatures in April range from low temperatures around 48°F (9°C)to highs around 67°F (19°C).
This time of year experiences mostly cloud covered days, with mild daytime temperatures and cooler evening temperatures. You will want to pack a mixture of light clothing, as well as warm clothing. Since the probability of rainfall is relatively high during this month, it's also worth packing some waterproof clothing or an umbrella.
We're not too picky about how you look; we just want you to come and be comfortable. You might want to check the local weather before you get here so you can bring clothing appropriate for the expected weather. Most attendees wear business casual or jeans with a t‐shirt.
A Guest pass is available for all evening functions for a fee of $250 per guest. This includes any regularly scheduled SUSE‐hosted conference activities after the close of daily sessions. Children under the age of 21 are not allowed at the evening events. Guest passes can be purchased on the SUSECON registration site.
The best place to start is the SUSECON web site for the majority of your questions and curiosities. If you need an official answer to a burning question and can't find it, email us at SUSECON_Support@suse.com, and a member of the SUSECON team will respond.
Monday, April 1: We will host a variety of Pre-event Hands-on Technical Training workshops for an additional fee. Specific topics will be found on the registration website.
Monday, April 1: If you are a SUSE Partner, we invite you to participate in the SUSECON Partner Summit. This will take place on-site at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel. The agenda will be available in closer to the event. This meeting is open to Partners only and will be available for registration on the SUSECON registration website.
Monday, April 1: Meet and collaborate with people from all over the globe that share your interests, needs, and challenges at the Birds of a Feather reception. The BoF reception is a great time to make introductions and set the collaborative tone for the best open source conference in the world.
Friday, April 5: A limited schedule of sessions and certification exams time slots will be available Friday morning, and the conference will be finished by lunch time.
We recommend that you schedule your return flight on Friday afternoon.
The Session Catalog will be available in January 2019, including Tutorial, Hands-on, Case Study, Business Overview and Sponsor sessions. This will include session titles and abstracts. Session presentations will be available on the SUSECON website during the week of the conference and will be accessible for several months thereafter.
Monday, April 1, will feature the SUSE Partner Summit and SUSECON Pre-event Workshops. The main SUSECON conference begins Tuesday, April 2.
Each day of the main conference will start with a morning keynote presentation followed by technical Breakout sessions, Hands-on sessions, certification exams, and more until around 6:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, April 2nd, there will be a Conference Party at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel following the technical sessions. There will be an evening off-site event on Wednesday, April 3rd. Refer back to the daily schedules as we get closer to the event for exact times.
Various opportunities are available for you to spend time with the sponsors, exhibitors, and SUSE employees in the Technology Showcase exhibit hall. Daily exhibit hall hours will be posted in the conference guide. The Technology Showcase will be open during lunch and breaks from Tuesday through Thursday, as well as during the SUSECON Conference Party on Tuesday evening.
